Prison Ministry India conducted its 6th national convention from 25th to 27th of October, 2000 at Birdy, Hyderabad, Andrapradesh. The inaugural was presided over by Most Rev. S Arulappa , Archbishop Emeritus of Hyderabad and the chief guest of the function was Sri. T. Devender Goud the honourable Home Minister of AP. The following day’s sessions were conducted by Fr. and Adv. P. D. Mathew, M. V. Krishna Rao, IGP of AP, Alikhan the retired Chief Justice and Fr. Varghese Karippery, founder father of PMI. The tremendous significance of this convention was that the valedatery function was conducted at Chellappilly Central Prison. His excellency C. Rangarajan, Honourable Governor of AP was the chief guest of the function. The meeting was presided over by bishop Peter Remigius, the patron of Prison Ministry India.
